These regal birds grace both table and yard! The Black Turkey is a critically endangered variety of heritage turkey first recognized by the American Poultry Association in 1874.

Black Turkeys and Midget Whites have been included in Slow Food USA's Ark of Taste, a catalog of heritage foods in danger of extinction. While all the heritage breeds scored better than the commercial breed (Butterball), the Midget White won the Ayrshire Farm Food Professionals taste test.
